About Carpenter Trade LLC
Carpenter Trade LLC was founded by Scott Carpenter in 1999. He started making sneakers and have been inspired by a cobbler who was independently making custom running shoes rated to be the best in the world. He taught him the many advantages a craftsman has over large corporations in making a superior product. With his design background, trade skills and love for the game, he pioneered a new kind of baseball glove that utilized these advantages.
He first worked at a Rawlings glove factory, then researching the evolution of the glove at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, he then began his business in Cooperstown in 2001. He refines his gloves by the repeated cycle of making, adjusting, and remaking every part of a glove. After years of this cycle and crafting several hundred custom gloves entirely by his own hands, he mastered the art of glove design and glove craftsmanship. Carpenter Trade is proud to be leading the industry in all three of these areas with a glove that a growing number consider to be the most advanced and the best in baseball today.
In 2011 the Baseball Hall of Fame acquired a game-used Carpenter representing a new stage of glove evolution as well as the first all-synthetic glove ever to be used in a Major League Baseball game. In 2018 Marucci Sports acquired Carpenter Trade LLC and is scaling his process to reach more players.
